Keeping Bugs at Bay

I’m planning a late summer camping trip and I’m looking for the best ways to keep bugs at bay. What are your go-to methods for dealing with mosquitoes, ticks, and other pesky insects while camping? Any recommendations for natural repellents or gear that works well?

Emily_Thomas My favorite tip is to use a dryer sheet in your hat. It keeps the gnats out of your face and makes your hat smell good!

Emily_Thomas I always pack a few citronella candles and set them up around the campsite. They work wonders for creating a bug-free zone. Also, wearing long sleeves and pants treated with permethrin can help keep ticks and mosquitoes at bay. Have you tried using essential oil blends like eucalyptus and lemon? They can be quite effective too.

SaraM89 Thanks for the tips. Citronella candles are definitely on my packing list now. I haven’t tried essential oils yet, but I love the idea of using eucalyptus and lemon. How do you usually apply them? Do you mix them with something else or use them straight? I’m always looking for natural solutions!
