I’ve been experimenting with different ways to make coffee while camping, and I’m curious what everyone here prefers for their morning brew in the wild.
Over the past few trips I’ve tried:
- Percolator: Classic, reliable, but a little bulky and easy to overdo it.
- Pour-over cone: Lightweight and makes a clean cup, but takes a bit more patience.
- Cowboy coffee: Just grounds in boiling water — rugged, but gritty.
- AeroPress Go: Surprisingly awesome, but takes a bit of cleanup.
There’s something about sipping hot coffee next to a morning fire that makes the whole trip better. I’m looking for something that balances weight, flavor, and simplicity — ideally without leaving behind a mess or needing a cooler.
So I’m asking:
- What’s your go-to method for making coffee while camping or backpacking?
- Have you found any tricks for keeping it fast and cleanup-free?
- Any favorite blends or camp-friendly roasts?
Let’s hear your outdoor coffee routines!
