Spent this morning glassing a quiet ridge line before the sun crested the trees, and I gotta say—there’s nothing like starting the day that way. Even though it’s not hunting season yet, I’ve been using the time to scout and get a feel for animal patterns.
Why I enjoy early morning glassing:
- You see the woods wake up—deer moving, birds calling, even the occasional coyote slipping by.
- It’s a great way to test optics and tweak your setup before season opens.
- Helps me mentally unwind and connect with the land.
I usually bring a thermos of coffee, a tripod, and my binos. I try to sit still for at least 30 minutes and just take it all in.
Anyone else do off-season glassing or scouting just to stay sharp (or sane)?
