Best Techniques for Fly Fishing in Streams?

I’ve been fly fishing in lakes for a while now, but I’m interested in trying my hand at stream fishing.

What techniques do you all use for fly fishing in streams? Any specific flies or equipment you recommend? I’m looking forward to exploring this new aspect of fishing and would love to hear your tips and experiences!

SaraM89 Stream fishing can be so rewarding! I’ve found that using a nymph pattern works really well, especially in deeper pools. Also, make sure to use a strike indicator to help detect those subtle bites. What kind of streams are you planning to fish in?

Stream fishing is a lot of fun! I’ve had great success with using dry flies like the Adams or Elk Hair Caddis. Make sure to approach the stream quietly and try to cast upstream. It helps to blend in with the surroundings, so wearing neutral colors can make a difference. Good luck and enjoy your time on the water!
