The Appalachian Trail is a fantastic choice for fall hiking! If you’re looking for stunning fall foliage, I’d highly recommend checking out the Great Smoky Mountains section of the trail. The colors there are absolutely breathtaking.
For cooler weather hikes, make sure to layer your clothing. Start with a moisture-wicking base layer, add an insulating layer, and top it off with a waterproof jacket. Don’t forget to bring a hat and gloves – it can get pretty chilly in the mornings and evenings.
Also, carrying a lightweight, packable down jacket can be a lifesaver when the temperature drops unexpectedly. Hope you have an amazing trip!
